Plautus’s success in playwriting

Written by Anya Tretyakova – contributor to Answers From
With no less than twenty extant plays attributed to the Roman playwright, Titus Maccius Plautus, his work remains the earliest surviving example of Latin literature, as well as one of its biggest bodies of work (Arnott). Born circa 254 BC in the northern Italian region of Umbria and moving to Rome at an early age, Plautus came from humble beginnings, to be recognised by contemporary academics as one of the most influential playwrights of all time (Norwood). At one stage, working as servant to a baker (Norwood), Plautus’s early struggles to achieve success imbue his works; especially his main characters – clever slaves with a streetwise, mischievous streak – stories with a charming (and disarming) approach to the ideologies of social and moral status. It would be difficult to read Plautus without noticing the overarching theme of low social status ...

Molière (Jean-Baptiste Poquelin) & Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais

Molière and Beaumarchais fell prey to much controversy, criticism and condemnation during their lifetimes, regardless of this, they also enjoyed widespread popularity. Often compared for their satirical approach to class hierarchy, witty social and political commentary, as well as secular inclination, Beaumarchais and his compatriot predecessor, Molière, are two incredibly influential French playwrights, both in their time and in the contemporary era (Lewis). Molière in the 17th Century and Beaumarchais in the 18th wrote works, which challenged social values, questioned religious dogma and infuriated as well as pleased many an audience member. Whether it was a private viewing, or a public performance, their plays did nothing if not create fervor of opinion in their wake (Carlson, French Stage). Working in a period wherein France had few permanent theatrical venues, both Molière and his successor, Beaumarchais, needed ...

Q: What is the working title of your book?
Actually, the title was chosen straight away and hasn’t changed since I began writing “The Perfect Smile from Bangkok”. I believe this title truly reflects my personal feelings, the endless benefits that this book offers to readers, and the desire of many people to have a perfect smile.
Q: Where did the idea for this book come from?
The idea came from my personal experience after many years of restricting myself to not smiling. How could I smile when my teeth’s ...

PRESS RELEASE
Everyone has their own path but every path is a journey which encompasses all.
Australia, October 21st from Julia Sophistique Pty Ltd – “Never before were we blessed with the opportunity to sign and publish a young and talented International author” – said the Director of the Australian publishing company, Elena Ornig. “His Fictional Novelette My Soul’s Labyrinth is an encompassing journey. In the spiral dance of life, full of twists and turns, his heroine is tending to her soul, shedding grievous thoughts and emotional pain, in search for liberation and peace of mind; just like we all do in order to find who we really are. For a man to take the challenge and to delve deep into a growing tragically wounded girl’s soul seemed a difficult task. However, the Author, Sergii Razumov, writing under the “pen name” Kim Kiuru, is brilliantly successful in understanding a lost soul.” – ...

Achieving the title of becoming a published author now is far more reachable than no one had ever dreamed of just a couple of decades ago. Many writers have thrown themselves into the vortex of self-publishing industry, but as usual, only a few have achieved the desirable recognition and satisfactory pay cheques. Determination and honest, hard work plus the risk of committed capital are not aspects I would like to focus on.
All writers are trying their best but only a few books are good enough for the modern day readers who are well educated, know what they are paying for and have become very astute and choosy. Unfortunately, many writers tend to look at their written work as a manifestation of their sacrifice to educate or entertain the readers. The readers do not take into consideration the writers ‘effort. They are boldly and brutally looking at every book as a ...

Answers from Anya Tretyakova.
The notion that theatre and film share many similarities, is not a new one. Both are their own ‘stage’ for the trials and tribulations of the characters that inhabit them. Either medium affords the creator a great depth of exploration into the human character; what it means to be a person in any given place or time, but more importantly, what it means to be at all. Two such ‘creators’ or authors of theatre and film, vital to each medium, are Luigi Pirandello and Woody Allen, respectively. Not only are both authors important, but they are clearly intertwined in their works, the former clearly influencing the latter, albeit perhaps indirectly; a legacy stretching over a period of more than a century.
Luigi Pirandello was born in 1867 in a farmhouse in Il Caos, located between Porto Empedocle and Agrigento, Sicily (Giudice). From such humble beginnings, he became one ...

Insidious spammers and their effort.

NOTE! Since this article was published I had received 10,069 spams and the number is still growing!
On average, I am receiving around 250 spams per week on my blog Answers From and websites: www.authorsinterviews.biz , www.motherofblogs.com , www.hotdigitalbooks.com .
Regardless to my headace that spammers are creating for me – I have to admit that they are quite crafty with words paraphrasing. I collected a handful of the innocent looking comments from my websites and blog that are actually real spams. What surprised me is how the insidious spammers , in their effort to create 999 spams (phrase combinations), used only 49 words.
The words are: again, appreciate, awesome, article, applause, blog, big, bit, cool, cannot, enjoyed, enough, ever, every, fantastic, forward, great, grateful, got, hey, informative, keep, looking, loved, major, more, much, Muchos Gracias ( Spanish “many” or “much” thanks in English), mundo (Spanish “mundo” means “world” in ...

After a fast check in, a little confusion of who wants to sleep on which bed, we finally all felt tired and hungry. Going to a restaurant was out of the question and the untouched lunch in the esky was a real saviour. However, we soon decided to see at least some part of the chosen town’s nightlife. In five minutes we were strolling alongside the ocean via the Beach Terrace towards The Surf Club and back via the Mooloolaba Esplanade. The fresh air from the ocean re-energised us very quickly. We felt great and looked forward to exploring the late opened shops with the souvenirs or fashion garments. The first day of our short trip seemed to be perfect, well almost…
