The purpose-built Parklands grounds have been hosting the Gold Coast Show since 1989. Next year, it will be held at the new Gold Coast Turf Club at Bundall. The Parklands complex will be redeveloped into the athletes’ village for the much anticipated 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Who knows how it will affect the future of one of the most popular shows on the Gold Coast, which usually attracts thousands of people to experience plenty of action. This was my first visit to the Gold Coast Show and the only reason for my visit was based on a purpose – to help fellow members of Gold Coast TechSpace to show their projects to the public.
By evening on the first day I felt exhausted but happy because I had a great time, surrounded by thousands of smiling people. I met some interesting personalities, saw rare animals and bought some gimmicky flashing water bottle just for fun.
I went all around visiting colorful tents filled with toys and food; and busy pavilions which hosted many companies, organisations, schools and universities who were launching their new products and services.
I was given a few samples of different products to try and I was thankful to receive a gift, the new book of the self-made millionaire Roy McDonald – How to turn $1Dollar into $1Million in Seven years or Less. I am looking forward to reading it and to learn about Roy’s secrets to financial freedom.
I marveled the stunning models of railway and trains presented by the members of the Gold Coast Model Railway Club Inc. I was fascinated by the masterly carved products from natural wood and the demonstrations of how to use different machines and tools.
I love vintage cars and I truly enjoyed my conversation with the members of Automobile Restorers Association Gold Coast Inc.
I realized that there are so many different aspects of the Gold Coast Show attracting people to visit this wonderful event year after year. The crowd excitement is overwhelming, spontaneous and a pleasant social interaction with people. Sharing skills, knowledge, projects, products and services is informative and educational.
And eventually, taking photos to create a memory album of such a vibrant event and sharing it with you is a priceless experience. I hope you feel the same.
